I’m Carly and I’m a blogger, an aspiring writer and The Mews newest team member!
I LOVE weddings and as a little girl I constantly dreamt about my wedding day. Fast forward to 2011 and becoming paralysed from an accident I knew when my big day came things were going to be very different.
On the 4th July 2015 I got married to my soul mate Nelly (Nielson) although the years have been tough our love has grown stronger and we somehow managed to create a magical day, which we will cherish for years to come.
I am a lover for bohemian fashion and that’s how I stumbled across The Mews. The unique, cool, lace and the bohemian effortless style of the French designers Laure de Sagazan, Delphine Manivet and Rime Arodaky really appealed to me, so I travelled up to The Mews in Clifton to try them on. After trying on many dresses I fell in love with a tight contoured silhouette dress that gave me the confidence that had been missing for 3 years and was made by the British Designer Suzanne Neville a completely dramatic style to what I was going for!
As my dress had to be changed to suit me being in a wheelchair I found myself being at The Mews for many appointments with Gail and Rebecca, they were amazingly helpful.
I was lucky enough and so grateful to have Gail and Rebecca dress me on the day of our wedding, they made me feel amazing and now I’m lucky enough to still be able to hang out in the wedding world and be part of the awesome team at The Mews.
A bit about me….I live in Crantock, Cornwall and my house is a 5 minute trek to the beach! I love the ocean and can spend hours looking out at the ocean and writing. I love being healthy and still exercise regularly at my adapted gym, I use to surf, play netball and I’m a big fan of rugby..this maybe down to the fact Nelly plays it! I’m happiest when I’m around my friends and family and I love meaningful quotes. My favourite place in the world is Bali the sheer natural beauty of this place is just magical! I have two dogs a retriever called Dora and a miniature long haired dachshund called Milly. I graduated at University with a Sports degree and then started another degree in Medicine before my accident. I love shopping and probably do too much of it (every girls says this!) I’ve always had an obsession with fashion in particular bridal fashion and I guess that’s why I wouldn’t ever tire of beautiful wedding dresses and wedding preparations. Seeing people’s creativity coming out in their weddings is amazing and everyone’s wedding is unique. Weddings can be simple, extravagant or whatever you want as at the end of the day it’s about two people truly in love.
My simple aim in life? Is to live a good story.
